Google Lively: A 3D Virtual World like Second-Life

At the beginning of Spring ‘08 I was invited to join a top secret program that Google was doing. It was pretty much a 3D virtual world where you can chat with friends and create rooms with furnishings and everything. Now they have released it to the public under the name Google Lively.

It sounds like a good idea and I hope it lasts – I gave them a few ideas myself a while back, such as youtube accessibility from within the world, so you can watch movies “with your friends” in the virtual world.

Good luck, Google Lively.

DIY Multi-Touch Surface Tablet

Check this out: Seth Sandler over at UCSD has a great tutorial on how to make your own Microsoft Surface style multi-touch tablet – for less than $30!

I am still trying to get mine to work more efficiently but the video shows a pretty good example of what you can do with it.
